What’s a talent? If we have no concept of its purpose or knowledge of its meaning, the word “talent” in Jesus’ parable is of little value to us.

Over the course of these last few weeks we have been looking at the anointing of the Holy Spirit that is given to every one of us at our baptism and how, like Jesus, the Spirit anoints us with power for service and endows us with gifts to minister to one another. Today I want to look at another aspect of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives — to produce in us the character of Christ.

You see it is the role of God’s Holy Spirit to produce in us the fruit of Christ’s life. God isn’t satisfied with just cleaning us up a little bit. Actually it’s a whole lot more like an extreme makeover home edition, a complete renovation. He starts tearing off the old wallpaper, knocking down walls. He has in mind to totally remake our lives into the image of his Son Jesus Christ and yet, at the same time, to preserve our own unique character and individuality.

St. Aidan's is an evangelical Anglican church. We seek to be a biblically faithful and orthodox church within the evangelical stream of the Anglican Way of following Jesus.

We are a member parish of the Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC), a diocese in the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). ACNA is a new body of Anglicans committed to "a renewed missionary effort in North America and beyond, driven by our passion for Jesus and His Gospel.

Our doors are always open to anyone who wants to practice their Christian faith or learn about God for the first time.

It is the call of St. Aidan's to seek with love and humility to witness to the hope and joy found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is: "To proclaim Christ that all may love him."
